Atari will be offering game downloads for 19.99 on games across all platforms for all existing console titles. The program called GamersFirst is was announced by Atari earlier this May and is being considered one of the industry's most aggressive pricing programs available today.
Windows titles that are being included in the programs will be downloadable at Valve and Direct2Drive for the same price, but here's where it gets tricky. The titles offered in the GamersFirst program include Dragon Ball Z(R): Budokai Tenkaichi, Driver: Parallel Lines, Marc Ecko's Getting up: contents Under Pressure and Indigo Prophecy. Other than Driver I have no clue what any of those other games are.
I think Atari is seriously ready to kick the bucket here and is really reaching for a way to get consumers to buy their games. The only problem is that unless you have a computer that can handle the downloads you'll never benefit from this nifty program.
Ah yes, and the recently launched Dungeons and Dragons online will not be included.
