Monks Watch Football???

Buddist monks in Thailand have been neglecting their monkly duties to watch the World Cup at all hours of the night. They're so into it they're too tired to take alms in the morning. People have been making complaints but none of the monks have been banned from watching the event.

"Innapropriate Behaviour" has been reported at seven surrounding temples and the monks have been warned that their religious activities should take precedence over the games.

It's also been reported that monks have been warned that they could be defrocked if they get too excited while watching the World Cup in Cambodia.

"If they make noise or cheer as they watch, they will lose their monkhood," Phnom Penh patriarch Non Nget told Reuters this month.

That's just insane....
