This page was sent to you by: Maharet Maharet: A man who struggled with co-morbid conditions, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia, was tasered by police this Wednesday. What's shocking about this particular death is how such a blunder on the officer's behalf could possibly occur. Who in their right mind would ever think that it's okay to taser someone if there is the possibility that they could fall over 10 feet? The sad thing about it is that because of this fatal mistake another officer faces being kicked off the force for a seriously gross error in judgment. When your raging and Bipolar you have an incredible amount of energy and sometimes even strength so it's not easy to go up against a man like that. My question is, why do it? Why antagonize him more? What did he do other than scream and go in and out of his apartment window? He was on the fire escape….and ended up on a ledge. Where they afraid he was going to jump off? If so, don't they have people that actually handle those types of situations? Couldn't they have waited for back up to bring something to break his fall? This blunder screams of inexperience or someone who didn't care or think about the consequences of his actions. This was completely unnecessary and I really can't understand how in the world anyone could make this mistake. I've lived in fear most of my life about the real possibility of experiencing what this poor man's mother is going through right now. My heart goes out to her. Maha
